Carol Robinson, Director of the Health Information Oversight Committee for the State of Oregon will speak about the role of HITOC. HITOC/HIIAC Committee members will also present on related topics and be available to answer your questions.

Our September short topic will include:

• An overview of the environmental scan of HIT/HIE adoption and applied use in Oregon
• A brief overview of the ARRA funding for Health Information Exchange and Regional Extension Centers
• Timeline for developing a strategic and operational plan for statewide HIE
• HITOC workgroup structure (if complete)

The HITOC will coordinate Oregon's public and private statewide efforts in electronic health records adoption and the eventual development of a statewide system for electronic health information exchange. The HITOC takes over previous efforts of the Health Information Infrastructure Advisory Committee (HIIAC) and the Health Information Security & Privacy Collaborative (HISPC).
